Flying Bulls Shoot

10th May 2014

On a recent trip to Salzburg Dibbsy photographed several aircraft from The Flying Bulls Collection including their Chance Vought F4U-4 Corsair and North American B25-J Mitchell. The images show the former dramatically captured at night in front of the iconic Hangar 8 and the latter in the sky above the stunning Austrian countryside. Both of these machines plus the collection's P38-L are due to attend the Flying Legends Airshow at Duxford in July, so come along and see them in the flesh.


A Royal Appointment

The Boultbee Flight Academy hosted HRH Prince Harry on 15th February when he visited its Goodwood Hangar to launch a Spitfire Flight Scholarship. The Prince is patron of the Royal Foundation's Endeavour Fund and the scholarship is its latest project, in partnership with Boultbee, to assist wounded, injured and sick service personnel. John was there to photograph the visit and captured HRH Prince Harry in Spitfire G-ILDA with its engine running. See the May issue of FlyPast for more on the visit.


Flying Legends 2015 Calendar

An early taster of the 20th Anniversary Flying Legends Calendar which will be released at the Flying Legends Airshow, Duxford, 12th-13th July. More details to follow closer to the event but we think it is a real crowd pleaser !


D-Day RAF Bookazine

As the 70th Anniversary of D-Day approaches Clive Rowley's Bookazine describes the RAF's part in the great invasion. This publication contains a wealth of photographs including double spreads of the BBMF's Dakota "Kwicherbichen" and Lancaster "Thumper MkIII" captured in flight by John, last September.


P-51C Mustang "Princess Elizabeth"

The front cover of the March issue of Aeroplane features Comanche Warbirds P-51C Mustang Princess Elizabeth captured in flight by John in the summer of 2013. Inside, Rachel Morris describes how the Mustang arrived to support three special aviation events and also profiles the original aircraft's 352nd Fighter Group pilot William T. Whisner. In the Warbird (photo 58) and the Wingmen (photo 39) Galleries you will find photos from this shoot, with Steve Hinton Jr piloting the Mustang.
